Egon Ronay is a Hungarian-born British immigrant. He had an insurance policy covered his taste buds via Lloyds of London  for total $400,00. Ronay’s restaurant guide “Egon Ronay’s Guide to British Eateries,” is that strong that it could either make or break any restaurant’s reputation or to launch the careers of famous chefs like Gordon Ramsey, according to The New York Times.  He also  had a distaste for TV chefs, exclaiming that Ramsey or Jamie Oliver “are not chefs anymore, but they are business people.”

The insurance policy covered his sense of taste, and was guaranteed payment if he had lost it. He died in 2010 at age 94.
